If you’re between 16 and 25, or older but in full-time study, you can save up to a 1/3 off on your trips home or to see friends with a 16-25 Railcard.

It’s £30 for a year’s Railcard, or just £70 for a 3-year Railcard. Last year, the average student saved up to £190 on their travel costs with a Student Railcard. You can use your Railcard with Standard Anytime and Off-Peak train tickets, as well as Standard Class and First Class Advance tickets.

16 25 Railcard peak times

You can use your Railcard with Anytime, Off-Peak train tickets and Advance tickets. However, for all journeys made between 4.30am and 10am Monday to Friday a minimum fare of £12 is payable.

Digital 16-25 Railcard

When buying your Railcard, you will have the choice receiving it in a physical format (such as card or plastic), or in a digital format. In most cases, you should get your digital Railcard instantly.

Can I use a 16-25 Railcard at peak times?

Yes. You can use your Railcard with Anytime, Off-Peak train tickets and Advance tickets. However, for all journeys made between 4.30am and 10am Monday to Friday a minimum fare of £12 is payable.

There is no minimum fare when you travel at weekends, on Public Holidays, or during July and August. 

Can I get a digital version of my Railcard on my smartphone?

Yes, when you buy your digital Railcard, you should receive a 'digital Railcard code' by email.
