175 years since Queen Victoria made the first royal journey by train, HM Queen Elizabeth II marked the anniversary by taking a scenic journey from Slough to London Paddington. On arrival, she named the new Intercity Express Train that shares her name. We look forward to keeping the country moving over the next 175 years.

Our brand-new Intercity Express Trains will be zipping along all our major routes to and from London. It’s part of our biggest fleet upgrade since trains first ran between London and Bristol 175 years ago. Now you can enjoy more seats, legroom and luggage space, plus free Wi-Fi and much more.

No pause at Paddington

More than 50 million passengers pass through London Paddington every year. Now, with the new Elizabeth line, it’s undergoing its biggest transformation since it opened in 1853. From December 2018, up to 24 trains an hour will run from Heathrow right through central London and out to the Docklands and Abbey Wood.
