Henley Royal Regatta 2016 Travel advice: GWR is delighted to announce that an extra 97,000 seats are being provided to help passengers travel to and from the Henley Royal Regatta between Wednesday 29 June and Sunday 3 July.
The train operator is laying on 94 additional trains on the branch line between Twyford and Henley-on-Thames, providing a 320% increase in services over the five-day period.
On Saturday 2 July alone over 25 additional trains will operate, offering over 35,000 more seats for passengers.
Henley-on-Thames Station Manager David Pinder states that customers may need to be patient and can help by having their rail ticket ready as they come to leave Henley-on-Thames station. He said:
"We are delighted to be able to provide these additional services, in support of the Henley Royal Regatta.
“While our friendly and approachable staff will be on hand to help keep people moving, I would urge passengers to allow time for their journeys, as a queuing system will be in place at both Twyford and Henley to allow passengers to board trains safely.”
Those commuting between London Paddington and Henley during the regatta are advised to check before they travel as there are alterations to usual service times.
