Lost property

All items of lost property we find are logged with our partners www.MissingX.com Search for your lost item on their website.

Alternatively, call our lost property helpline on 0345 7000 125. It’s open 07:00 to 22:00, 7 days a week.

There are a few things you need to know:
  • all items are kept securely at Bristol Temple Meads for 12 weeks 
  • food, drink and perishable items are disposed of immediately 
  • we aim to get items to Bristol and logged as soon as possible, but it can take up to 5 working days
  • any cash is banked and a receipt issued – reclaim your money by taking this to any ticket office

Collecting in person

You can collect in person at our Bristol Temple Meads Lost Property Office. Remember to bring your reference number with you.

Opening hours

Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 19:00
Saturdays – 09:00 to 17:00
Sundays and bank holidays – 10:00 to 16:30

Having your item sent to you

Small items up to 2kg

Can be returned by post. Buy postage online at the Royal Mail website and email the label to us at gwr.lostproperty@gwr.com  – making sure to include your reference number.

Alternatively you can send us a suitable, stamped addressed envelope, or a prepaid Special Delivery pouch.

Larger items

We can return these by courier – we recommend myHermes and CollectPlus. When you've bought your postage label, email it to us at gwr.lostproperty@gwr.com  – make sure you include your reference number.
