Lost property

We have partnered with MissingX, the World’s largest lost and found database, for the easiest way for you to search for your lost property.

Register and search for your lost property

  • anything left on our trains is usually found when the train reaches its final destination. This might be managed by a different train company. We will let you know if you need to contact them
  • anything found at GWR stations (including items left on other train company's services) is sent to our office in Bristol. It can take up to 7 days for items to reach us
  • perishable items are disposed of straight away
  • cash is banked and we issue a receipt. You can reclaim your money by taking this to any GWR ticket office
  • items we can keep are stored securely for 3 months

You can collect in person (or send someone to collect on your behalf) from our Bristol Temple Meads Lost Property Office.

Opening hours

Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 19:00
Saturdays – 09:00 to 17:00
Sundays and bank holidays – 10:00 to 16:30

Having your item sent to you

Items up to 2kg can be returned by Royal Mail. Larger items can be returned by courier. We'll let you know the best option.
