Following a fault with the signalling system earlier today between Bristol Parkway and Swindon the line is now open.
Impact:
Train services running through these stations are now running normally.

What has happened?

There was a fault with the signalling system between Swindon and Bristol Parkway which has now been fixed and Network Rail confirm that trains are now running normally.
The signalling system is how trains are kept a safe distance apart and directed onto the various lines along their journey. When there is a fault with the signalling system trains may need to stop at the affected signals so that the Driver can speak to the Signaller to confirm if the track ahead is clear.

What are we doing about it?

The line between Swindon and Bristol Temple Meads is shut due to planned enginneering works, therefore all services are booked to run on the line between Swindon and Bristol Parkway which had the signalling faults.
Network Rail have fixed the signalling fault and we can return to running our normal timetable on our route between London Paddington and Bristol / South Wales.
