This promotion is for Day Return 'Family Day Out' Group tickets, where outward travel is focused on westbound morning GWR services, on trains scheduled to leave London Paddington (or have left London Paddington) before 10:15. Tickets are available from GWR served stations including London Paddington, Reading, Didcot Parkway, Oxford, Newbury, Swindon, Chippenham, Westbury and from local GWR stations to connect into GWR long distance trains at these locations. Destinations include most GWR served stations in Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon (not west of Totnes), Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Hereford & Worcester and South Wales.
The promotion is valid for purchase and for travel between 13th July – 4th September 2026. Tickets are subject to quota availability for the outward direction of travel and must be purchased prior to departure of the first train in your itinerary - it is recommended that you book as far ahead as possible.
Tickets are 'Day Return' and all travel must be completed by 04:29 on the day after the date on the ticket.
Outward travel is quota controlled and is subject to compulsory seat reservations (some connecting GWR trains do not offer seat reservations, however at least one train on your itinerary will do). Return travel can be made on any GWR train, after the booked Outward journey times, via a valid route for the origin and destination on the ticket, up to and including 04:29 on the day after the date on the ticket.
A £10 discount is offered for Family & Friends Railcard holders, at least one of the named Railcard holders must form part of the group travelling with the 'Family Day Out' ticket and must be able to present their valid Railcard to support the discount when requested by rail staff.

Prices are valid for a group of minimum of 1 adult and 1 child, up to a maximum of 2 adults and 4 children (under 16) travelling together. Tickets are not valid if no child (age 0-15) travels as part of the group.
