If you’re aged 16 or 17, you are eligible for a 16 to 17 Railcard, which lets you enjoy 50% off standard Anytime, Off-Peak, Advance and Season tickets. Save money on trips into town, days out to the coast, travel to college or weekend festivals – as many times as you like.
A 16-17 Railcard is just £30 and is valid for one year or until your 18th birthday, whichever comes first.

When can I use a 16-17 Saver?
You can use your 16-17 Railcard for Anytime, Off-Peak and Advance fares as well as Season tickets.
Download your 16-17 Saver to your phone with the Railcard app or keep your 16-17 Saver in your wallet to get half-price tickets across the National Rail network (excluding travel on ScotRail, Caledonian Sleeper services, and Rail add-ons such as PlusBus).
The 16-17 Saver is valid for one year or until your 18th birthday, whichever comes first.
If you buy a Season ticket before your 16-17 Saver expires, you can keep using the season ticket for up to four months after the expiry. The two expiry dates are shown on your 16-17 Saver.
You'll need to have the following when you apply:
evidence of age - a valid UK driving licence, passport or national ID card
a good quality digital passport-style photo of you
debit or credit card for payment. If you don't have any of the above forms of ID, you can upload a scan of your birth certificate or a Government-approved PASS card instead. Please note that applications using these forms of ID will take a little longer to process.
