Wi-Fi on board

Browse the web while you’re on the move with FREE Wi-Fi on our trains.

Keeping you connected

Our free GWR Wi-Fi uses data from the mobile phone network to give customers coverage across our network. From Paddington to Penzance, and Southampton to Swansea we’ll use the available signal to keep you connected.

Some of our stations also offer free GWR Wi-Fi from The Cloud.

Getting online

Connect in 3 easy steps:

  • search for ‘GWR WiFi’ and select connect
  • open your device's internet browser; our Wi-Fi registration page should load automatically – you’ll only need to register once
  • follow the instructions on screen to activate your free GWR Wi-Fi

We implement a ‘fair use’ traffic management policy which restricts streaming onboard. So, download your favourite TV shows and films before your journey. Read our full Wi-Fi terms and conditions.

UK Rail First of its kind trial – fast and stable Wi-Fi

Peninsula Transport, Network Rail, Motion Applied and GWR are working in partnership on a trial combining connectivity technology from the world of Formula 1, 5G Edge Active Antennas, and satellite integration to transform on-train Wi-Fi.

For 60 days, starting in November, customers on the trial’s 9-car Intercity Express Train will be able to experience high-speed, stable Wi-Fi.

Look out for train 802101 on our network.
