16-25 Railcard

Stop your finances feeling the strain, and still catch your train.

If you’re between 16 and 25, or older but in full-time study, you can save up to a 1/3 off on your trips home or to see friends with a 16-25 Railcard.

Here’s the revision guide

  • you can use your Railcard with Standard Anytime and Off-Peak train tickets, as well as Standard Class and First Class Advance tickets
  • get a 1/3 off Oyster off-peak pay as you go single fares and daily caps for journeys on Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail and most National Rail services in London
  • it’s £30 for a year’s Railcard, or just £70 for a 3-year Railcard, so it soon pays for itself

Staying part of the club is easy

You can renew your card online within one month of its renewal date by heading to the 16-25 Railcard website.

You can also apply for a 3-year Railcard right up until the day before your 24th birthday, meaning you can travel and save for longer.

Keep your Railcard close by

The 16-25 Railcard is simple to use, just make sure you have it to hand whenever you buy your tickets or travel as your discounted tickets will not be valid without your 16-25 Railcard ID.
