Upgrade your seats on weekends and public holidays
With Weekend First you can upgrade from Standard Class on most GWR routes at weekends and public holidays, for as little as £7.50.

It’s really easy to upgrade. Just ask any member of staff when you jump on board, and they’ll be able to let you know whether any seats are available.
And even if you need to change to another GWR train as part of your trip, you’ll pay one fare for the whole journey.

GWR First upgrades aren’t available on services run by other train companies.
We do our best to offer on-board food and drink as shown in our timetable. However, there may be times where, for operational reasons, this isn’t possible.
If we can’t serve you at your seat, just show your ticket at the buffet, or the Standard Class trolley, to get the complimentary snacks and drinks you’d like.
We can't guarantee the availability of our on-board Wi-Fi, or that First Class customers will always receive an enhanced service.
Reclining seats, plug sockets, and USB ports aren't available in First Class on our fleet of 165/166 'Turbo' trains.
Our High Speed Train fleet (HSTs) have one First Class space for wheelchairs less than 610mm wide. There are no accessible toilets in First Class.
Our new Intercity Express Trains have two wheelchair spaces, and an accessible toilet, in First Class; and double this, when two trains are joined together.
