West Somerset Railway

Pass through stunning countryside, ride on historic steam locomotives, and enjoy the beauty of 10 unique stations, as you skirt between the Quantock Hills in the east and the Brendon Hills and Exmoor National Park to the west.

Minehead

Minehead is a beautiful seaside resort on the North Somerset coast. Simply cross the road at the station and find yourself on the beach; or follow the esplanade along to the harbour and a wide array of shops.

Dunster

Explore Dunster with its original yarn market and medieval castle, the largest in England. Run by the National Trust and dating back to the Norman times, it’s well worth a visit; and you can even save 20% on entry by showing your train ticket.

Bishops Lydeard

While changing between train and bus, take time to walk around this picturesque village. Visit the splendidly restored watermill or the village’s 14th century church.
