Updated March 2021

Saturday 29 May to Friday 4 June 2021

What’s happening

This summer, Network Rail will be upgrading the track in the Worcester and Evesham areas to maintain infrastructure and improve reliability for train services.

To allow this work to take place, trains between Moreton-in-Marsh and Worcester Foregate will be amended on weekdays with further changes in the Worcester area at the weekend beforehand.

Completion of this work will help protect the line and its use for the years ahead.

What you need to know

Weekend of 29/30 May – buses will replace trains between:
  • Moreton-in-Marsh and Worcester Foregate Street
  • Gloucester and Worcester Foregate Street
From Monday 31 May to Friday 4 June – buses will replace trains between Moreton-in-Marsh and Worcester Foregate Street. Trains will continue to run between London Paddington and Moreton-in-Marsh.

Know where to catch the bus – at some locations our replacement buses will stop away from the stations.

Check train times from May – online journey planners will not show the correct train service until early May. We’ll update this web page when everything is ready.

Our travel advice

  • allow plenty of time – Journeys involving replacement buses will take longer than usual. Check carefully before travelling.
  • wear a face covering – Unless exempt, you are required to wear a face covering to travel on public transport. This includes replacement buses.
  • adhere to social distancing guidelines – We’ll have markers and signs around our stations but please also take care when boarding/leaving trains and replacement buses.
