The Great Malvern Festival of Stories for Children is taking place between 22 and 23 October.

The Malvern Hills and the surrounding landscape has inspired many famous writers and musicians over the centuries, including C.S Lewis and Sir Edward Elgar. This brand-new festival honours Great Malvern’s storytelling heritage and aims to inspire a new generation of storytellers across a variety of genres. The Festival promises to be a celebration of stories and storytelling, featuring an exciting programme of professional storytellers, children’s authors, illustrators, puppet companies, musicians and theatre.

The festival will feature recently appointed Children’s Laureate; Joseph Coelho, Winnie the Witch illustrator and children’s author Korky Paul, Harry Potter cover illustrator Jonny Duddle, Horrible Histories illustrator Martin Brown, internationally renowned Storytellers; Peter Chand and Cat Weatherill, and Puppet Theatre by Lempen Puppets, Indigo Moon Puppet Theatre and Sealegs Puppets. All taking place in venues across Great Malvern including the special Festival Storytelling Yurt.

There will be a mixture of free and ticketed events, with multi-buy ticket discounts available through the Malvern Theatres Box Office.
