Autumn is a great time to visit the English Riviera, as the colours of the landscape change. One event that’s a great day out for the whole family is the annual Apple Day – a food and crafts festival taking place at Cockington Court in October.
The English Riviera has plenty to offer both culture vultures and history buffs. Enjoy classical concerts, pantomimes, West End shows and more in Torquay, at venues like the Princess Theatre and Babbacombe Theatre. Spend an afternoon watching the world go by in the fishing port of Brixham Harbour, or feel like a giant in the award-winning Babbacombe Model Village. Enjoy some of the region’s best arts and crafts at Cockington Court Country Park, then explore the magical labyrinth of prehistoric caves at Kents Cavern.
Head to the busy fishing port of Brixham and sample seafood straight off the boat, or catch and barbecue your own. Stroll around Torquay’s fish market to buy brill, John Dory and scallops. Visit Torquay’s classy international restaurants, or try a pint of local cider at a little back-street pub.
The English Riviera is a fantastic place to get active. Enjoy scenic coastal walks and bike rides, or go for a dip in the ocean. For a real adrenaline rush give climbing or coasteering a try. And, if you fancy taking in a game of football, head out to see Torquay United in action.

Paignton, Babbacombe and Brixham also have plenty to offer, and you’ll find regular markets taking place across the region.
