Helpful tips when planning your journey

  • Book in advance – reserve your seat at GWR.com or on the GWR app before you travel for the most comfortable experience.
  • Check before you travel – always check your journey before setting off; timetables vary across the weekend.
  • Bring your Railcard – if you have one, carry it. Travelling without it means paying the full fare.
  • Use the right ticket – child tickets are for those aged 5–15 only; proof of age may be requested and peak restrictions may apply.
  • Charge your phone – e-ticket users need a working battery to board.
  • Allow extra time on Monday – a queuing system will be in place. Build extra time into your plans.
  • No trolleys or sack trucks – space on board is limited. Only bring what you can carry.
  • Make sure your ticket covers the full journey you are making – Revenue Protection teams will be on site throughout the weekend.
