Network Rail is carrying out infrastructure improvements as well as essential maintenance of the region's railway to help provide better and faster journeys.
Rail improvement work is planned during the autumn on the Heart of Wessex route serving Weymouth, as well as work in the Castle Cary area.
This is for track renewal and essential maintenance to be carried out by Network Rail to help maintain rail connections between Somerset and Dorset.
Track renewal work is also taking place that will affect trains between Salisbury and Southampton in September, or via Westbury in November.

Trains will also be affected by rail improvement work between Yeovil Pen Mill and Dorchester West from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 October.
