What to expect

The Portsmouth International Kite Festival 2019 will welcome kite flyers from across the globe. While those wishing to fly a kite will need to sign up in advance, visitors can watch for free. All kites will be displayed right the way along the Southsea Common.

The festival runs from 10:00 - 17:00 on both days with plenty going on. Highlights include kite flying demonstrations, artistic kite displays, giant cartoon displays, Japanese fighting kites and more. There will also be food and craft stalls, as well as children’s entertainment.

How to get there

Getting to the Portsmouth International Kite Festival is easy. The nearest station is Portsmouth Harbour which is a 20 minute walk to Southsea Common. You’ll be able to see kites flying from the station.
