What to expect

Things are a little different this year, but it doesn’t mean that the season still can’t be ‘merry and bright.’ Cardiff has plenty of festive experiences to enjoy, including the Christmas Markets and Santa’s Victorian Tours in the Castle all against the backdrop of twinkling lights. Whilst Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland is unable to take place this year, event organisers will be adding festive sparkle to the city with Christmas at the Castle, incorporating rigorous safety standards designed to allow visitors to enjoy themselves in a COVID-safe, socially-distanced environment.

In the moat outside the Castle you’ll find outdoor seating in an Alpine themed (yet heated) area along with food and drink stalls including festive mulled wine and cider. In the city centre you’ll find Cardiff Christmas Market, festive funfair rides on Castle Street and of course the magical ambience of Cardiff’s Victorian and Edwardian arcades.
